Terra Cotta Warriors at the Bowers Museum

Time: Lunch @ 11:30am, audio tour @ 1:00pm

Location: Bowers Museum, 2002 North Main Street, Santa Ana, CA 92706 (714 567-3600)

Cost: $30.00 for scheduled group Museum Admission and audio tour, plus lunch on your own. Parking is now $4.00. You don’t need to be a member of the Women’s Committee to enjoy our events. Pay by cash or check at the event. Once you RSVP, we may need to charge you for your ticket whether or not you attend, unless we can find a replacement for your reservation.

Description: The Women’s Committee of the Brown Club of Southern California invites you to join us at the Bowers Museum for their special exhibit, The Terra Cotta Warriors Guardians of China’s First Emperors.

We will start with lunch at 11:30am at the Tangata Restaurant, located in the Bowers Mission style courtyard. The restaurant serves California cuisine colored with Patina Group Joachim Splichal’s award-winning French signature style. Menu features appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees, as well as homemade desserts. Prices range from around $8 to $15.

Our scheduled time to start our self-directed audio tours is 1:00pm. We will have your admission tickets available at lunch.

Description: The Brown Club of Southern California presents the first annual gaLA BRUno: A Members Garden Affair in Bel Air hosted by Tammy ‘72, Richard P’08 and Michael ‘08 Morgenstern and sponsored by (oops) Wines.

  • Reconnect with Brown friends and make new ones!
  • Enjoy tasty hors d’oeuvres and cool beverages alfresco on a beautiful socal fall day.
  • There will be an exciting raffle for a Hawaiian vacation, scrumptious dinner-for-2 packages (yum!) and other super surprises.
  • Plus, come get the insider’s update of all things Brown from recent grad and host Michael Morgenstern ‘08.
  • There is no charge to attend this special event. However, it is required that you be a member of the Brown Club of Southern California for 2009.

Description: Do not miss this exciting event hosted by the Alpert Medical School and the Brown Club of Southern California.

Dean of Medicine and Biological Sciences at Brown’s Alpert Medical School Edward J. Wing, M.D. will be in Los Angeles to speak about “Changing the World: The Story of Global Health at Brown”

Join Dean Wing for a comprehensive presentation, which will include a reception, lecture and discussion. Dean Wing will speak about the Division of Biology and Medicine, its unique strengths as well as future direction. Global health highlights include his personal experiences in Kenya as a physician, researcher and teacher. Learn more about Brown’s international initiatives including The Population and Training Center, The Fogerty AIDS International Training and research Program, and The Adopt-A-Doctor Program as well as the students and faculty that make a difference in the world.
