Brown Bombers

Announcement:
LOOKING FOR WOMEN WHO CAN HIT AND THROW A SOFTBALL! JOIN THE CO-ED SOFTBALL TEAM!

The Brown Bombers Co-ed softball team is looking for women who have previous softball experience to join the roster of the annual team fielded by your Club in the Santa Monica Municipal Summer Softball League. The Brown Bombers are softball teams consisting primarily of Brown alumni. Originally started by the Gurv, Alan Gurvey ‘84, Bob Young joined them a few years later back in the mid-90’s. The Bombers Co-Ed team participates in the Santa Monica Co-Ed league. The Bombers Men’s Team presently is in the Los Angeles Municipal Valley Softball League. All alumni are welcome to participate.

Here are some highlights of the Bombers’ history:

  • 2002—Won Santa Monica Co-Ed League. Here, in this pic, teammates are posing with trophy.

  • 2004—The Bombers fielded an all-male team and won the Los Angeles Valley Muncipal “C” League. Here, Alan Gurvey ‘84 and Bob Young ‘70 congratulate one another.
  • 2005—The Bombers men squad defended its crown and won a back to back championship. Here, the team celebrates at a Valley restaurant and attracted some new fans. Bob Young ‘70 shows off the championship trophy; is distracted by some new Bomber fans; and the team shows it is no. 1 !!
