Tea at the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens &
“Sam Maloof and Art in the Pomona Valley 1945-1985”
A Presentation of the Pacific Standard Time Festival

The camellias are blooming, and we return to the Huntington, one of our favorite venues in the Pasadena area, for their superb tea and a short walk across the grounds to the Boone Gallery.
There we will explore “The House That Sam Built: Sam Maloof and Art in the Pomona Valley, 1945–1985”, a groundbreaking exhibition of the furniture of mid-century craftsman Sam Maloof (1916–2009) and the art made by 35 members of his circle of friends.
Maloof’s work has been given to American presidents, collected by celebrities, and admired by art connoisseurs far and wide. It also has been the subject of major exhibitions across the country, but this will be the first to closely examine Maloof's contribution to the development of art in Southern California.
